Margaret Anderson is an educator and dialogue facilitator whose work focuses on meaningful communication, collaborative learning, and community engagement. As Acting Director of the Hutchins Dialogue Center, she helps create opportunities for people with different backgrounds and perspectives to engage in thoughtful conversations and build understanding.

Biography

Margaret Anderson has taught for 18 years in the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies and eight years in Sonoma State University's Freshman Year Experience Program.

Her work extends beyond the classroom through the Hutchins Dialogue Center, where she supports dialogue facilitation, curriculum development, and educational training.

She previously directed the Touchstones Discussion Group project and has trained more than 1,200 teachers to incorporate weekly dialogue seminars into public school classrooms through the AVID program.

Margaret has also facilitated conversations in schools, prisons, businesses, and community organizations. Her campus involvement includes collaborating with Associated Students on discussions, lectures, films, and workshops exploring complex social and cultural issues.
